Dr. Donald Swoverland, DDS became a family dentist in West Lafayette, IN after graduating from the Purdue University School of Pharmacy in 1973 and the Indiana School of Dentistry in 1977.

Throughout his professional career, Dr. Swoverland has attended numerous continuing education courses pertaining to the treatment of debilitating chronic pain conditions such as TMD/ TMJ, headaches, migraines, and associated symptoms. 

Dr. Swoverland’s interest in cosmetic dental procedures ironically developed due to the needs of many chronic pain patients. With successful elimination of painful symptoms, many required a more long-term solution to assure that their symptoms did not return. This is when Dr. Swoverland developed a passion for performing full mouth dental reconstructions as a method for maintaining the proper tooth-jaw-muscle relationship.

Due to his extensive education in performing full mouth dental reconstructive procedures, it was natural for Dr. Swoverland to start performing smaller cosmetic dental procedures to meet the needs of our family dental practice. Utilizing the same techniques acquired for large complex cases, Dr. Swoverland began performing cosmetic dentistry with veneers for patients that want to improve their smile. Dr. Swoverland’s choice to use advanced clinical techniques, combined with the highest quality restorative materials, quickly lead to a growing reputation for providing outstanding cosmetic dentistry in West Lafayette, IN. 

Dr. Swoverland was the first in the area to achieve graduate status from the prestigious Las Vegas Institute for advanced dental studies (LVI). He has also been a member of the American Dental Association, West Central Dental Association, Chicago Dental Association, and the International Association of Comprehensive Aesthetics.
